How Quantum Portfolio Analytics produces every number

Quantum Portfolio Analytics separates two jobs. Financial engines — never AI — compute every score, projection, tax figure, and conversion schedule from the client data an advisor enters; the engines documented here are deterministic, so identical inputs always produce identical output. AI explains those results and drafts the language around them; it never computes them. These pages document how each engine works and what it assumes.

In industry terms: the Quantum Retirement Score is a composite retirement-readiness score whose funding pillar is a Monte Carlo simulation over historical market returns; the Portfolio Durability Test is scenario-based historical stress testing; the tax and Roth conversion engines are closed-form calculators locked to a published tax year.

One page per engine

Each page answers one question and ends with a table of its assumptions as implemented.

  • Simulation & the Quantum Retirement Score — What the score is made of, how returns are generated from historical data, how withdrawals and taxes are modeled inside each trial, and what the outcome bands mean.

How to read these pages

  • Mechanism, not parameters. Every page explains how a calculation works. The specific return, volatility, inflation, and fee assumptions a calculation uses are advisor-controlled or firm defaults, and they are shown in the product next to the number they produced — not published here.
  • Ground truth is the code. These pages were written from the engines as implemented, not from a design document.
  • The advisor decides. Quantum calculates, analyzes, and illustrates; it does not make investment, tax, legal, or insurance recommendations. Every output is decision support for a licensed professional.

Common questions

Does AI calculate the numbers?
No. Every score, projection, tax figure, and conversion schedule in Quantum is computed by financial engines, never by AI; the engines documented on these pages are deterministic — identical inputs produce identical output. AI explains modeled results, answers advisor questions, runs what-if scenarios through those same engines, and drafts client-ready language that the advisor reviews. It does not compute, alter, or determine any projection, and it does not select or size strategies.
What is the Quantum Retirement Score?
A composite retirement-readiness score built from four pillars: funding, allocation fit, guaranteed-income floor, and stress resilience. The funding pillar comes from a seeded simulation of the client's plan over historical market returns; the other three come from deterministic calculations on the same inputs. The simulation page describes each pillar and how the headline is assembled from them.
Are the exact return and volatility assumptions published?
No. The methodology is public; the default parameter values are not. Every assumption a calculation actually used — returns, volatility, inflation, fees, allocation, tax year, filing status, and state — is shown in the product beside the result, so an advisor can always see what produced a number.
How current is the tax law Quantum applies?
Every tax calculation applies tax year 2026 law, verified against IRS, SSA, and state Department of Revenue primary documents. The tax page names the source for every table the engine applies, and the tax year is shown inside the product beside every tax figure.
